2ND STATION They then took Jesus, and carrying his own cross he went out of the city.
[Luke 19:17]
"Anyone who does not take his cross and follow in my footsteps is not worthy of me."
[Matt. 10:38]

Spend a few moments in silent reflection:
- Do I take my cross daily and follow Jesus?
- Do I deserve to be called a follower of Jesus?
Amo te, o Jesu, mi Amor, magis quam meípsum,
et ex íntimo corde pænitet me quod tibi displícui.
Ne sinas me íterum a te separári.
Da mihi perpétuum amórem tui,
et dein fac de me quidquid tibi placúerit.
I love you Jesus, my Love, above all things;
I repent with my whole heart for having offended you.
Never permit me to separate myself from you again.
Grant that I may love you always,
then do with me what you will.
Cujus ánimam geméntem
contristátam et doléntem
pertransívit gládius.
Through her heart, his sorrow sharing,
all his bitter anguish bearing,
now at length the sword had passed.
