5TH STATION As they were leading Jesus away, they seized on a man, Simon from Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and made him shoulder the cross and carry it behind Jesus.
[Luke 23:26]

Spend a few moments in silent reflection:
- Do I really follow Jesus, or is my religion mostly empty actions?
- Do I come to Mass out of love for Jesus, or is attendance at Mass a burden to be endured?
Amo te, o Jesu, mi Amor, magis quam meípsum,
et ex íntimo corde pænitet me quod tibi displícui.
Ne sinas me íterum a te separári.
Da mihi perpétuum amórem tui,
et dein fac de me quidquid tibi placúerit.
I love you Jesus, my Love, above all things;
I repent with my whole heart for having offended you.
Never permit me to separate myself from you again.
Grant that I may love you always,
then do with me what you will.
Quis est homo qui non fleret
Matri Christi si vidéret
in tanto supplício?
Is there one who would not weep,
whelmed in miseries so deep
Christ's dear Mother to behold?
