THIRTEENTH STATION
Jesus is given to His mother
V/. Adorámus te, Christe, et benedícimus tibi. R/. Quia per sanctam crucem tuam redemísti mundum. |
V/. We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you. R/. For by your holy cross you have redeemed the world. |
Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "You see this child: he is destined for the fall and
rising of many in Israel, destined to be a sign that is rejected - and a sword will pierce your own soul too -
so that the secret thoughts of many may be laid bare." [Luke 2:34, 35] Spend a few moments in silent reflection: - Mary accepted the sword that pierced her soul. Do I show her the thanks I owe her? - How will I feel when my secret thoughts are laid bare before God when I die? |

Amo te, o Jesu, mi Amor, magis quam meípsum, et ex íntimo corde pænitet me quod tibi displícui. Ne sinas me íterum a te separári. Da mihi perpétuum amórem tui, et dein fac de me quidquid tibi placúerit. |
I love you Jesus, my Love, above all things; I repent with my whole heart for having offended you. Never permit me to separate myself from you again. Grant that I may love you always, then do with me what you will. |
Fac me vere tecum flere crucifíxo condolére donec ego víxero |
Let me mingle tears with thee, mourning Him Who mourned for me, all the days that I may live. |
